What Is Christian Development Class About Anyway?

I was looking into the word develop & here are some meanings:
To bring out capabilities or possibilites
To bring to a more advanced or effective state
To cause to grow or expand, to elaborate in detail,
to cause to progress, to unfold inherent possibilities,
to bring a piece into effective play.

In short, this ain't your grandma's Sunday school class! Come join us Sundays at 4 pme

This is definatly a great class to discuss and get a closer look at the Bible. It's very interesting to see what other takes people have on scriptures. It's also very amazing to me to have read a particular scripture hundreds of times and may have totally misunderstood the true meaning. This class has helped me disect the bible more and more. I find myself knowing in depth exactly why I believe the things I believe, and we are always given the scriptures to back our beliefs up. God has reavealed many things to me through my own Bible studies due to the things he has been working with me in class. This class makes my worship and bible study simply marvelous! I love being filled with God's word!

Or maybe you'd like to just come and sit under the awesome word of God?
I enjoy this class.....a lot!

So..

I know when I first joined that class I thought "Shoot, I'm not a 'new' Christian", but the Christian Development class doesn't mean that you are a "new" Christian but simply that you want to amplify the meaning of what you believe and why.

Since joining the class, I have a clearer understanding of what I believe, scripture out the wazoo that supports what I believe, and I must say I don't sound like an idiot anymore because my vocabulary sure has improved considering the fact that we discuss some pretty interesting topics (i.e. total depravity, unconditional election, synergistic beliefs, predestination... please don't let this scare you...you have no idea the kinds of faces I get when I throw these words out in conversations :] ).

My favorite thing about the class is that we can consider, discuss, and debate scriptures with fellow Christians. We can ask questions and receive answers from multiple people. We have a teacher who not only knows The Word, but is also a wonderful leader.

The class is definately something that reforces my faith and strengthens my walk with Christ.

Psalm 24:3 Who shall go up into the mountain of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His Holy Place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted himself up to falsehood or to what is false, nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6This is the generation [description] of those who seek Him [who inquire of and for Him and of necessity require Him], who seek Your face, [O God of] Jacob. Selah [pause, and think of that]!

I've been reflecting on last Sunday's class. How it's our desire to be clean, pure, and true. For this to describe us in our generation. It's so easy for us to deceive ourselves by hiding behind spiritual activity. My prayer this week is Ephesians 1:18, that the eyes of my heart would be flooded with light as He removes what is vile from what is precious.
